What to do in Antigua

1. The best juices and fresh salads can be found at Pitaya Juice Bar just a few blocks from Posadadel Angel
4th Avenue South, No. 4, Half a block from the Cathedral

2. A stroll around the main plaza is a must. Café Condesa is a popular meeting place and also a
great bookstore.

3. Make sure you try the traditional banana bread available at most Bakeries around the city.

4. Antigua is very famous for its Dulcerias (Candy stores). The most famous is Maria Gordillo. You will
always find a line of locals there.

5. If you are looking for well curated Central American Crafts, Casa de Artes is your place.

6. Pepian is one of the typical foods from Guatemala. It is a stew prepared with chicken, pork, beef,
vegetables and spices. A good place to try it is Hotel Posada de Don Rodrigo where they usually
have a woman making fresh tortillas by the garden.

7. For a nice dinner in a romantic setting, the place is Meson Panza Verde, around the corner from
Posada del Angel

8. For a full Chapin menu you can visit La Fonda de La Calle Real at any of its three locations.

9. You cannot miss the Arco de Santa Catalina and all the shops and cafes in the area. It is specially
beautiful at sun down. You will find jewelry made from Central America Jade, Maya textiles,
sweets, wood carvings, and local ceramics.

10. The best souvenir shop in town is Nim Pot. You will find textiles from all the provinces around
Antigua and pretty much everything that is handmade in Guatemala.
